Workato is looking for a “temporary” Revenue Accountant while the current incumbent is away on Maternity Leave. You will report to the Director of Accounting located in Singapore.
The person will be expected to “own” the “Revenue Recognition” process for the parent and subsidiaries globally.
Revenue Management
Ensure revenue is recognized according to accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606). Ensure that “Revenue” module is closed on Calendar Day 3 (or earlier) in alignment with Workato close cadence
Regularly (weekly) update of Revenue Arrangements, identify and resolve any issue/s noted, perform period-end Revenue management at month-end close
Monitor and track company's total revenue on a monthly basis
Ensure accurate recording and classification of all revenue-related transactions
Review of customer contracts and ensure accurate revenue recognition rule is attached to each order and item in ARM (NetSuite)
Regularly perform test calculations on new opportunities to eliminate outliers. Review MoM Revenue by customer and prepare JE’s to manually adjust discrepancies (over and under recognition) noted during MoM review, prior to Day 0
Analyze revenue data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Monthly Accounts Reconciliation of revenue accounts and reports, to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies, such as, but not limited to (Deferred Revenue, Unbilled Receivable, Closed Opportunities and RPO), including variance analysis and commentary
Compliance and Auditing
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (USGAAP)
Maintain audit-ready financial records
Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of manual revenue calculations (if required)
7+ years of relevant work experience related to the new Revenue Recognition Guidance (ASC 606) is a must
Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, accounting, or finance
Ability to manage multiple priorities under given time constraints and deadlines
Internal and external stakeholder customer management skills
Solid analytical abilities with advanced spreadsheet skills
Experience with Salesforce.com (SFDC), Oracle NetSuite (ARM)
Demonstrated experience working in a cross-functional team
Meticulous, ability to work on your own, and good problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work on holidays/weekends to meet the Day 4 closing cadence
