Senior Content Developer - Tekion

Job Description

The Senior Content Developer will be responsible for creating and maintaining high quality learning content and generating ideas for improving learning materials, primarily focused on all Tekion platforms (ARC, APC, AEC). The ideal candidate will be proactive and a strong champion of PowerPoint design principles. The person will come with excellent attention to detail as well as the ability to transform complex information into visually appealing and effective presentations. 

 Design and Development:  

• Lead the design and development of medium to complex, instructionally sound learning content.   
• Understand technical content and help define learning objectives. 
• Create content strategies and structure content accordingly. 
• Develop curriculum and course outlines. 
• Design and develop engaging learning content - training decks, workbooks, job aids, interactive activities, assessments etc. 
• Convert video content into digestible learning format including leveraging AI tools. 
• Craft compelling stories to translate product-heavy terminology into simple, easy-to-understand terms and narratives. 
• Develop visually appealing and informative assets and collaterals, from various sources and sales collateral to support product and sales initiatives. 
•  Excellent PowerPoint skills - create engaging and compelling learning materials using PowerPoint 
• Design and format PowerPoint presentations according to guidelines and requirements ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality throughout. 
• Create visually engaging slide layouts to effectively communicate complex information, utilizing innovative design techniques. 
• Review and edit existing content to enhance usability and engagement. 
• Edit and revise existing presentations to enhance clarity, flow, and visual impact. 
•  Ensure that all learning materials are consistent, up-to-date, and aligned with the larger team and company goals.

Collaboration:  

• Coordinate with different internal and external stakeholders for project planning, execution, and delivery. 
• Collaborate with SMEs to understand training needs, ensure content accuracy and relevance, and translate learning objectives into compelling learning modules.  
• Work closely with multimedia teams to integrate video, audio, graphics, and other digital media into content materials.  
• Follow up with SMEs to collect feedback on learning content and revisions required based on internal and external feedback including content accuracy 
• Collaborate with Creative Design team for any additional asset development including graphics and illustrations 

 Project Management:  

• Consistently and proactively follow up with stakeholders and teams to make sure project timelines are being met. 
• Manage multiple content development projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and project goals are met.  
• Plan, organize, and track project tasks, resources, and timelines to deliver high-quality content on time.  
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to development and deployment of content. 

 Quality Assurance:  

• Perform quality check on every learning content and make sure they adhere to standards and guidelines. 
• Implement feedback from stakeholders and quality assurance teams to refine content and improve the learner experience.  

 Innovation and Continuous Improvement:  

• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in content design and development methodologies.  
• Introduce innovative solutions to enhance learner engagement and improve the overall learning experience.  
• Understanding of new concepts to incorporate AI tools with PowerPoint to enhance the deliverables. 

 Coaching and Mentoring 

• Provide mentorship and coaching to junior developers as required, helping to develop their skills and knowledge in content development. 

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.  
• 5-8 years of experience in content development, instructional design, PowerPoint design and presentation development. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint preferably 5+ years of experience in PowerPoint design and presentation development, including advanced knowledge of designs, templates, slide layouts, formatting, and animation features. 
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in design elements and branding guidelines. 
• Proven experience in managing complex learning/content development projects.  
• Excellent knowledge of instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.  
• Superior project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively.  
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.  
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.  
• Ability to mentor and guide junior team members. 
• Experience with multimedia development tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) will be a plus (not mandatory). 
• Expertise in authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms will be a plus (not mandatory).
