Financial Controlling Intern - SumUp

About the role

This is a 6-month paid internship - ideally full-time 8 hrs per day/40 hours per week - at the office. There is flexibility. 

As a Financial Controlling Intern at SumUp, you will support the Controlling function in overseeing the company's financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting

• Coordinate and prepare internal financial reports and management accounts.
• Review month-end results together with variance analysis for certain areas of the business.

• Assist for timely and accurate submissions of monthly reporting and the month end closing process.

General Ledger Management

• Assist in the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
• Review or prepare key reconciliation in the accounting function as part of the month end closing process - reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Review significant contracts and assess correctness of accounting records.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with the controlling and other finance team members to help facilitate cohesive and comprehensive financial management.
• Support ad hoc projects like due diligence, tax or internal restructuring projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Accounting or in process of acquiring
• Fluent English, both written and spoken
• Very good Excel knowledge
