Finance General Ledger Intern (6 months, full time, paid) - SumUp

About the role

This is a 6-month paid internship - ideally full-time 8 hrs per day/40 hours per week - at the office. There is flexibility.

We are looking for someone who:

• Wants to work and learn the core activities in a FinTech company
• Wants to understand how the e-money and digital wallets work and what is the technical and accounting setup behind these products
• Has very good communication skills in English
• Is able to pay close attention to details, ensuring that data and information are accurate and complete
• Is able to analyze cause-effect from the data entered into any system
• Has working level of Excel (SUM, COUNT, IF, SUBTOTAL, cell references)
• Understands the basic accounting (cash vs accrual accounting, double entry concept)
• Is willing to ask questions to enhance its understanding and knowledge

You’ll be great for this role if the below apply to you:

• Bachelor’s degree (BA) or Master in Accounting or a relevant field is required – completed or in process of completion
• Target-driven with ability to remain focused on goals and maintaining effective work despite challenges
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure in a high-paced multinational organization
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and cross functional collaboration skills
• Strong team player able to interact with colleagues at all levels
• Enthusiastic, dedicated and willing to learn, conscientious with a “can-do” attitude and a proactive work ethic
