About this role

As Scribe’s first Senior Staff Frontend Engineer, you will:

1. Lead Frontend Technical Direction: Define and drive frontend architecture and best practices across Scribe. You’ll be the go-to expert for creating robust, scalable, and high-performance web applications built with React, Next.js, and Tailwind.
2. Mentor and Inspire: Guide and mentor engineers, championing a culture of technical excellence and impact. Help shape the team’s growth through code reviews, technical workshops, and one-on-one mentorship.
3. Drive Impact: Own key initiatives that tie directly to company growth and user value. Advocate for the user to drive measurable improvements in the product, leveraging analytics and user feedback.
4. Co-Author Our Product: Work closely with product managers, designers, and backend teams to translate complex user needs into delightful and accessible user experiences. Your input will be instrumental in aligning product vision with technical strategy.

You could be a great fit if

• You have 12+ years of engineering experience
• You have 8+ years of frontend experience
• You have extensive experience with React
• You have played a significant part in setting the standards for a growing engineering team
• Some of your superpowers are bringing people together, encouraging them to express their viewpoints, and reaching consensus
• You believe that “if can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough”

Bonus

• Experience with our frontend stack (TypeScript, NextJS, Tailwind, React Query, React Testing Library, Playwright, shadcn)
• Experience with Chrome Extensions
• Startup experience (not required, but we build and move fast!)

Compensation

$200,000 - $285,000 base + equity + benefits
