Software Engineering Internship - Client Tools (Brno office, Czech Republic)
The Red Hat Engineering Client Tools team is looking for an Intern interested in Python, Go and Linux to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will work with a group of talented software engineers, software quality engineers, and contributors across the globe. You’ll work on new features and address existing defects and bugs in our projects. You’ll also help us ensure a smooth customer experience in connecting RHEL to the Hybrid Cloud Console. The position will also allow you to learn the inner workings of Linux and improve your Python and Go language skills. Our team is international - you’ll work with both Czech and international colleagues, and there will be plenty of opportunities to improve your English and communication skills. The team has several great engineers located in Brno, and they will help you with onboarding and will help and guide you during your internship.

Red Hat’s Intern Program is a collaborative effort between the Emerging Talent team and our intern managers. The program is designed to offer a meaningful and well-rounded experience — combining professional development, networking opportunities, social engagement, and impactful work. This is a paid internship based in our Brno office, typically lasting 12 months, with the possibility to extend up to 24 months. Interns work on average 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours, and the expected start date is July 1st.
What you will do:
Participate in developing new features and enhancements for our components, and solve issues affecting our customers
Develop customer-facing tools in Python and Go
Contribute to several programs essential to Red Hat business
Collaborate with quality software engineers during both troubleshooting and fixing issues and when developing new features
Work in a cross-functional team together with other software engineers, quality engineers, product and project managers to apply the implementation of those features and processes to the specific software products.
What you will bring:
You must be enrolled in a Czech university (Bachelor’s 3rd/4th year or Master’s) for the full internship duration and be able to work full-time within 2 years.
Working knowledge of written and spoken English
Python or GoLang development experience
Experience with git and GitHub or GitLab
Familiarity with unit testing and continuous integration (CI) principles
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
