Principal Community Architect - Telecommunications and Edge - Red Hat

Red Hat’s Open Source Program Office is looking for a Principal Community Architect to help drive Red Hat’s telecommunications and edge computing community strategy. In this role, you will work with stakeholders across the business to scope, build out, and enhance processes for engaging with the specialized affinity communities across industry markets, with a primary focus on the telecommunications space. This role is responsible for convening stakeholders from engineering, the Office of the CTO, products, marketing, and sales to determine the decision criteria for evaluating how and where the business chooses to allocate resources in support of related telecommunications and edge community engagements. You will apply this criteria to help Red Hat define and execute its strategy for successfully engaging in these markets.

You will work with the Industry Community Architecture team to develop proposals for engaging in new communities based on learnings from the OSPO’s past and ongoing support of Red Hat’s Telco and Edge teams; stewarding and refining this engagement plan in an iterative loop with senior individual contributors across the business will be your primary focus. As part of the process for onboarding new communities, you will be responsible for understanding and sharing insights from the community landscape to inform the business’ decision process. The successful candidate in this role will also step into iterating upon existing strategy and handling day to day care and feeding of communities in which Red Hat has an existing and sustained investment. If you have community-building experience, demonstrated contributions to open source projects, and the ability to align business and customer needs with open source community efforts, this role is for you. A successful candidate will leverage strong community relationships and develop deep relationships across Red Hat to create dialog and collaboration across stakeholder groups while providing objective insights based on data to inform decision making. This position requires some international travel.
