Sr. Performance Instrumentation Analyst - McAfee
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced analyst to join our Product Data Engineering (PDE) team as a Performance Instrumentation Analyst, reporting to the PDE Lead. As a key member of McAfee’s data team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our systems, processes, and products are performing optimally and delivering best-in-class performance to our customers. You will be responsible for analyzing performance data, developing and implementing performance metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and execute performance improvement initiatives.
Additionally, you will be responsible for designing and implementing performance testing and monitoring processes, providing recommendations to senior management, and developing and maintaining performance dashboards and reports.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. This role requires a deep understanding of:
- Product performance analytics
- Funnel analytics
- Reporting and dashboards development and automation
- Logical data modeling
- Developing, managing, and aligning technical data requirements
- Business analysis
This is a remote position based in Canada. We will only consider candidates in Canada and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.About the role:
- Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Engineering (PE) Teams and Product Management (PM) Teams) to understand requirements for product performance monitoring and reporting.
- Develop a deep understanding of McAfee's business and product
- Design product performance metrics that can be used to track product performance and evaluate whether the product is behaving as designed.
- Conduct performance analysis to identify areas of improvement in systems, processes, and products.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, patterns, and insights to inform business stakeholders.
- Conduct funnel analytics to understand product performance at each funnel stage.
- Build automated product performance analytics dashboards and reports to meet requirements collected from PE and PM teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential performance issues, provide resolution support to end users of product performance reporting dashboards and reports, and execute performance improvement initiatives.
- Maintain the performance dashboards and reports, and make updates as needed.
- Identify new data, metrics, and granularity needs.
- Engage with Data Quality Analysts, Business and Technical Data Stewards when data does not align with metric requirements or metrics definitions.
- Provide recommendations to senior management on performance improvement strategies and initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in performance analysis and monitoring.
About you:
- Bring 8+ years of experience in product performance analytics, data analysis, data visualization and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Hands-on individual contributor who can read and write SQL and Python.
- Experience with a big data environment such as Databricks and/or Snowflake.
- Persuasive verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of delivering actionable insights and recommendations
- Work well with partners at all levels while advancing a strong point of view on data interpretation and effective performance analytics strategies.
