Senior Manager, Mobile Engineering - FullStory
This role can be performed remotely anywhere within the United States.
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a talented and cross-functional team of engineers specializing in iOS, Android, Go backend, React Native, and Flutter development. Your mission is to drive the creation of privacy-first, performant, and intuitive native libraries that capture relevant information about an application’s user experience—empowering FullStory teams to build best-in-class product analytics and session replay features.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will not only mentor and grow a team of high-caliber individual contributors but also contribute technically.
In a typical day, you might:
- Lead and collaborate with a team of 9 engineers across multiple platforms (iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, and Go).
- Maintain a high technical bar, ensuring SDK performance, privacy, and usability meet industry-leading standards.
- Contribute to the codebase where necessary—whether by designing architecture, debugging complex issues, or reviewing pull requests.
- Work closely with product, sales, customer service and other engineering teams to align SDK capabilities with FullStory’s broader analytics and session replay platform.
- Advocate for best practices in observability, testing, and CI/CD automation to ensure high code quality and minimal regressions.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and career development for team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth.
- Create a culture of ownership and accountability, empowering engineers to take initiative and drive high-impact projects.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive team environment, ensuring clear communication across different disciplines and backgrounds.
- Recruit and onboard top-tier engineers to grow the team in alignment with company needs.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong technical background in one or more of iOS or Android
- 1+ years of engineering management experience, leading teams that build and maintain complex software solutions.
- Hands-on development experience in mobile SDKs, native libraries, or system-level engineering.
- Proven ability to manage and scale engineering teams while maintaining a hands-on technical presence.
- Deep understanding of mobile performance, memory management, and privacy-preserving data collection.
- Strong ability to work across native mobile and multi-platform environments, ensuring seamless integration across various frameworks.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, balancing technical and product requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
