Sr. Engineer - Sensor (Remote) - CrowdStrike

As a global leader in cybersecurity, CrowdStrike protects the people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission hasn’t changed — we’re here to stop breaches, and we’ve redefined modern security with the world’s most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day. We have 3.44 PB of RAM deployed across our fleet of C* servers - and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We’re also a mission-driven company. We cultivate a culture that gives every CrowdStriker both the flexibility and autonomy to own their careers. We’re always looking to add talented CrowdStrikers to the team who have limitless passion, a relentless focus on innovation and a fanatical commitment to our customers, our community and each other. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About the Role:

Trillions of events flow through Falcon sensors into CrowdStrike's clouds every day.  On the Unified Search team, we research, design, and develop ways to minimize both human effort and resource consumption in the search for patterns in this massive and ever-growing quantity of data.  We're looking for an enthusiastic colleague to join us on this ambitious effort.

The Unified Search team focuses on languages and execution environments to detect malicious behaviors across multiple kinds of platforms, from the cloud to individual customer machines.  Typical problems from past projects have ranged from very low level to high level abstractions, from considering CPU cycles per character to developing abstract models for future query execution.

Our highly collaborative team is distributed across the United States. CrowdStrike is a remote first company but for those who may prefer working from an office, CrowdStrike has engineering offices in Kirkland WA, Sunnyvale CA, Irvine CA, Arlington VA, and Minneapolis, MN.  Occasional travel (<10%) is required.

CrowdStrike is a computer security company, but we do not expect candidates for this role to have prior security industry experience.  We will mentor/train in aspects of the security world as required. We do expect a strong interest in CrowdStrike's mission and a willingness to learn about the industry and our techniques.

We are looking for a colleague to develop and maintain a specialized execution environment for running detection logic produced by the Unified Search team’s compilers.  This execution environment is written in C++ and expert level experience with C++ is essential.
