About our Team: On a day-to-day basis you will ensure the data you manage is properly governed, fit for purpose, data quality thresholds and targets are well understood and adhered to, alignment with our data initiatives and business goals, and fostering a data-driven culture.
About the role: Data is at the heart of everything we do at Cirium, we store and manage over 300 terabytes of aviation data from 2,000 data sources, covering 970 airlines, 17,000 airports, 400,000 aircraft, millions of events, weather, traffic and fares for 300,000 routes, worldwide NOTAM alerts and more. As a Data Product Manager at Cirium, you will be merging data lifecycle management and technical proficiency with commercial acumen to shape how we leverage our data and be a champion of data governance. You will be accountable for foundational datasets from which we build our products and services.
Responsibilities:
Having In-depth knowledge and a sound business understanding of the data domain you own
Making decisions around your data domain on access, usage, data quality, publishing new data, and policy compliance
Maintaining a strategic data roadmap, gathers requirements from appropriate stakeholders and communicates data improvements delivered from the roadmap back to the business
Acting as a senior stakeholder with the appropriate technical squads to ensure that items from the data roadmap are added to appropriate squad backlogs, prioritized, and delivered
Populating and maintaining Cirium Data Governance Platform for assigned data domain (definitions, business glossary's, linage, taxonomy, etc)
Being accountable for ensuring data quality thresholds and targets are understood and met on assigned foundational data domain
Acting as the bridge between IT and business units to maintain data integrity across the entire data lifecycle
Owning and running monthly Data Management Group sessions for assigned data domain
Requirements:
Have Product management experience working in a complex data environment and with data as a product
Demonstrate solid understanding of data governance frameworks
Have a solid understanding on data analysis and approaches used to make data drive decisions
Demonstrate Proficiency in various technologies to assist day-to-day tasks with a strong emphasis on JIRA knowledge preferred
Have active experience in successfully managing and maintaining complex datasets
Demonstrate understanding of agile software development methodologies like Scrum
Have effective communication and stakeholder management skills
Previous experience with Collibra is preferred but not essential
