What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

ChargePoint is looking for a React Native expert to build our next generation mobile app for installation, service and diagnosis of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. As a Senior Software Engineer at ChargePoint, you will work in the Installer App team to architect, build and deploy React Native mobile applications to enable our EV station installers across US, Canada, and Europe to successfully set up our EV chargers on both iOS and Android.

Responsibilities

Work as a part of a small collaborative, cross-functional team of React Native developers, designers, product managers, and QA

Design and implement features and user interfaces from ideas and wireframes to production-ready mobile app solutions using the React ecosystem

Leverage Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and ChargePoint cloud APIs to setup and manage electric vehicle chargers from both ChargePoint and other manufacturers

Work with native Android and iOS modules when required to ensure tight integrations with the platforms for the best user experience

Write automated tests to ensure error-free code and performance

Evolve application architecture to improve developer velocity, performance, and stability

Implement clean, smooth animations to provide a world-class and simple user experience for our EV installers

Work with third-party dependencies and APIs to make the setup experience of EV chargers seamless and effortless

Requirements

4-7 years of experience working on mobile apps using React Native

Previously shipped or maintained a mobile app in the Apple App Store / Google Play Store

Well-versed in React Native testing libraries such as Jest, Enzyme, ESLint

In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, HTML, functional programming, and front-end languages

Strong understanding of React fundamentals such as Virtual DOM, component lifecycle, and component state

Complete understanding of the mobile app development lifecycle from prototyping to deployment

Knowledge of type checking, unit testing, typescript, prop types, and code debugging

Previously worked with REST APIs, document request models, offline storage, and third-party libraries

Demonstrate ability and inclination to make critical system-level design decisions and drive projects from start to finish

BS in Computer Science or equivalent (MS preferred)

Preferred to have

Prior experience with Java, Swift, or Objective-C

Experience integrating with Bluetooth Low Energy and GATT

Knowledgeable of React Js and tools like Redux, Zustand, etc.

Prior experience with Golang, Node, or Python

Working with EV / EVSE products is a big plus
